Your New Life
Another New Life
You wake up to the sound of surf, much, much closer than you've ever heard it unless you moseyed down to Puffin Pier back in the old days. What old days...? Why, the days when you had a body, of course. The memories are probably coming back by now, jumbled along with everything else you lost. What a wake-up call.
But at least the ocean is real, unlike your dubiously fragmented remembrances. This little island out in the middle of nowhere sports a crude sign reading
Here, you're free, albeit... kind of incorporeal, as you'll soon find out. The island is covered in pretty little trees that don't quite form a forest, bowed over the really beautiful sandy beach that is way prettier than the one on the mainland. One, slightly rickety treehouse -- bare of anything, because incorporeal ghosts don't need furniture, of course -- peeks out from between the leaves. This is, apparently, your home away from home now.
Finally, there's a small bay-like area on the island that leads you to a strange-looking storm drain, marked with a symbol that's not-quite-an-apple. Stepping in will wash you alllllll the way back up to Puffin Pier, right where the sewers normally let out.
Oh, and once you step onto the mainland? You're now a duck. What kind of quacking afterlife is this.
((OOC: the tldr; about death is here!))

[So.]
[So....]
[Well, the twists and turns of the Elation aren't known for being mild. Sampo Koski is peeved, yes, but...well, if life gives you becoming ghost ducks, you gotta make do.]
How in the world did this happen, though...? So weird...
[He's exploring the island, finally climbing into the treehouse just to think for a while on this whole chaos.]

But when he spots the man in the treehouse, he decides he has to push through it for now. To say something. So he meekly follows him, hands awkwardly at his sides to show he's holding nothing. ]

He'll be doing it for a while, just crying near the water and adding his own tears to it. But eventually, he stops and stumbles his way to the very top of the treehouse.
Apparently he's calling dibs on that area, even if he's not quite aware he looks like he's doing so. That's what you're pretty much doing when you're laying down on the floor and looking at the ceiling like a floating piece of trash, right?
(He is so not okay.) ]

cw: sora.... sora-ing
Hinata. Hinata. Hinata.
He's even uglier and filthier than he had thought. Not only did he kill one person, but four. Truly, he was a monster. How could Hinata forgive any of that? But he also didn't feel any regrets.
But he felt so... so... angry. Why had they been so cruel? He put up with it because they were his parents, they raised him in their home, feeding and clothing him, even if they didn't want to. There was a little bit to be grateful for that, right. But they just had to take everything away from him. And then Hakuraku-sensei.... looking back, what a selfish asshole. All these adults that keep telling him what he wanted to hear, so he could do the job for them.
By the time he tries to think about Keito-kun, he just feels... numb.
He curls into an angry tearful ball, until later, when he's disturbed. ]
post-erika duckhandling
In the meantime, he decorates the area with a bunch of blankets, cushions, and pillows for everyone to chill on. There's even a chalkboard on the wall now with a bunch of post-its and pens stored nearby. All of this was moved in with the help of other ducks, of course. Keito has zero qualms about giving the ducks puppy-dog eyes while asking them to help him carry everything.
At least doing all that gives him time to process everything that happened. ]
I have a question: Was there any time outside you just really thought you had to act like an actual duck?

Monopoly time!
But all the "game" talk from earlier made him eye the board game he found around town and convinced the other duckies. And anyway, it wasn't as much as Keito-kun's requests, right?
He's poking around the pieces at the highest room, feeling childish, but he said fuck it to being depressed, right? At least for now. ]

Oh, you got a board game in here?

Friday morning
He'd stashed the knife away before he had come back here, making sure no one else could find it.
He looked up, eyes frantic, calling for the others. ] Keito-kun, Sampo-san!
[ He slumped against the doorframe, still feeling dizzy and disoriented. ]

WEEK 2
Q&A FOR NEW DUCKIES
From experience, Keito will simply stay at the sitting room of the treehouse, waiting for any arrivals. The room's all cozy and organized with the bulletin board and post-its updated, all done to better reflect the number of people he now expects. ]
If you want to talk or have questions, I'll be here. Or you can ask Sampo or Sora instead? [ It doesn't matter either way, right? ] But if you want to be alone for a while, that's fine too. Just avoid moving into any of the already furnished rooms, okay? Take care of yourself.
[ For the rest of the day and night, Keito in particular will stay in the sitting room, writing on various papers and post-its. Just in case anyone needs more time before talking. ]

[ Sora's back after the execution to relay the events that happened there to Keito, Sampo, and their new duckies. Particularly what Adela had said and the powers that Makima showed off.
It's a bit awkward for him though. Hi, former roomies. Why are the corpse flowers becoming rare in this farm as they are irl?
Anyway, he'll let Keito explain the gist of dead duck islandia though. ]

IMPROMPTU MEETING TO SHARE INVESTIGATION RESULTS
Okay, first off, the puffins gave Amy and me some fishy papers and a weird translator device! [ And this is where he talks about everything that happened with the puffins and how they ended up with all this loot. He leaves his set of the papers out on the table for everyone to see. ] ...And that's why we should definitely keep gifts on us just in case!
[ With that said, there's also the elephant in the room to discuss. ]
So what does everyone think we should do with the translator?
