Your New Life
Another New Life
You wake up to the sound of surf, much, much closer than you've ever heard it unless you moseyed down to Puffin Pier back in the old days. What old days...? Why, the days when you had a body, of course. The memories are probably coming back by now, jumbled along with everything else you lost. What a wake-up call.
But at least the ocean is real, unlike your dubiously fragmented remembrances. This little island out in the middle of nowhere sports a crude sign reading
Here, you're free, albeit... kind of incorporeal, as you'll soon find out. The island is covered in pretty little trees that don't quite form a forest, bowed over the really beautiful sandy beach that is way prettier than the one on the mainland. One, slightly rickety treehouse -- bare of anything, because incorporeal ghosts don't need furniture, of course -- peeks out from between the leaves. This is, apparently, your home away from home now.
Finally, there's a small bay-like area on the island that leads you to a strange-looking storm drain, marked with a symbol that's not-quite-an-apple. Stepping in will wash you alllllll the way back up to Puffin Pier, right where the sewers normally let out.
Oh, and once you step onto the mainland? You're now a duck. What kind of quacking afterlife is this.
((OOC: the tldr; about death is here!))

Keito's going to be looking from the treehouse entrance, trying to gauge whether he needs to do something. But ankle-deep should be fine? He's not going to do what the kids did and flop on the floor, right? (More like seafloor, but still.) ]

Ah.
His lips begin to tug into a smile until he remembers that he no longer has a reason to feign one. Those smiles never reached his eyes in the first place.
He replaces that aborted smile with a shuddering laugh.]
Keito.
[This really is some cruel afterlife.]

If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them? But if you want to be by yourself for longer, I can wait inside. It...took me a while to want to talk. So no rush.
[ And by a while he means he was crying for probably hours when he first arrived, so. Yeah, he's fine with it if Dongrang wants to be left alone for a little longer. ]

[He can't help but scoff a little and shake his head at the absurdity of the name. Who could have guessed that the nickname for hell would be Duck Island?
Names aside, he does withdraw some of that bitterness when he takes in how this whole thing has clearly been affecting Keito. Not only that, but Keito's offering an explanation for all of this despite not owing Dongrang anything... Well, what good would lashing out do then?]
Ah... That's kind of you, Keito. I might just take you up on that, if I'm going to be trapped here for the foreseeable future.

[ It's kind of hard to just say "congratulations, you're a fellow duck now". He's not that insensitive to other people's feelings to simply drop that on them. ]
So whenever you're ready, I'll be around here. Or you can ask Sampo or Sora, if you prefer to hear it from them.
[ And one last thing: ] Please don't go too far into the surf though? I'm not sure what happens to us if we venture too far.
